American, Asian and European Coffee Roasters source the Premium Guatemala Arabica Green Coffee Bean for Roasting. Roasting coffee transforms the chemical and physical properties of green coffee beans into roasted coffee products.

Specialty small coffee roasters are on every corner of the world today. These small coffee shops feature exotic and specialty-roasting methods setting the commercially roasted coffees apart from the coffee beans one might purchase in a retail chain of the large franchise coffee shops of the world.

For the small roaster acquiring, the rare Guatemala Arabica Green Coffee Bean has been challenging, green coffee beans are sold through brokers or middlemen that provide such services.

Brokers have minimum coffee orders, which require roasters to buy large quantities of coffee beans, deal with wait time from two weeks to months for delivery, large amounts of capital are required and the need to store the green beans at the roasters locations requires special handling and space.

Ethical Fashion Guatemala developed a solution for small premium roasters around the world. From Finca to Roaster, 3 days to the US and 4–5 days world side, providing 70 kilo or 159 lb. pound shipments of Green Coffee Beans.

While this a change to the way green coffee beans have been purchased, this creates a more efficient means for roasters to manage inventory, and have a system of on-demand fresh green coffee beans only a few days away from their coffee shops.

For the Grower this changes the pricing dynamics of what they were paid in the past. Eliminating the middlemen and brokers, places the Finca and the Roaster in direct contact, with Ethical Fashion Guatemala handling the logistics and shipping for both parties.

Coffee Arabica, also known as the Arabian coffee, “coffee shrub of Arabia“, “mountain coffee”, or “arabica coffee”, is a species of Coffea. It is believed to be the first species of coffee to be cultivated, and is the dominant cultivar, representing some 60% of global production. Coffee produced from the less acidic, more bitter, and more highly, caffeinated robusta bean (C. canephora) makes up the preponderance of the balance.

Guatemala Shade Grown Coffee is a form of the beverage produced from coffee plants grown under a canopy of trees. A canopy of assorted types of shade trees created to cultivate shade-grown coffee. Because it incorporates principles of natural ecology to promote natural ecological relationships, shade-grown coffee is an offshoot of agricultural permaculture or agroforestry. The resulting coffee is sold as “shade-grown”.

Guatemala Arabica Green Coffee Bean production is the industrial process of converting the raw fruit of the coffee plant into the finished coffee. The coffee cherry has the fruit or pulp removed leaving the seed or bean which is then dried.

While all green coffee is processed, the method that is used varies and can have a significant effect on the flavor of roasted and brewed coffee. Coffee production is a major source of income, especially for developing countries where coffee is grown.

By adding value, processing the coffee locally, coffee farmers and countries can increase the revenue from coffee.

Guatemala came into the coffee game predominantly to find an export to replace indigo and cochineal, two of their early exports that were rendered useless once chemical dyes were invented in the 1800s.

At the time, the government began a policy of support for the industry by offering trade and tax benefits. In the 1960s the government further pushed for greater global demand for Guatemalan coffee through the establishment of Anacafé (Asociación Nacional del Café), a marketing association which, to this day, continues to promote the nation’s coffee products worldwide.
