Volunteer in Guatemala. Ethical Fashion Guatemala is a platform about change for the Artisans of Guatemala. We are not a None Profit or an NGO. Our work covers providing Artisans the ability to sell direct and eliminate Middlemen that have been taking all the profits.

Transparency, Ethical and Fair Trade are words found on websites claiming to provide support for those in need in Guatemala and other countries. We believe creating independent sustainable sources of income for Artisans providing education, technology, and infrastructure entire communities share in the benefits.

The idea of Fair Trade was to provide rules about trade between individuals and businesses in developing countries. Guatemala’s national minimum wage is 2,644.50 quetzales ($346) a month for agricultural and nonagricultural workers, but some workers receive as little as 600 to 700 quetzales ($78.63 to $91.74) a month.

Is it Fair Trade when an Organization pays a producer of a product $30 for that the Organization sells for $350.00?

Transparency is an important part of our work between Artisans and the consumers that purchase the products they produce. Transparency builds long-term trust. Ethical Fashion Guatemala has worked to gain the trust of those we work with for our goals together. Artisans do not want charity; they want a Fair Wage, not Un Fair Trade.

The term Ethical is on many websites claiming to support Ethical business practices. Who is checking? No monitoring Organizations exist. One NGO in Guatemala with $10 million in Assets and $5 million in cash uses the term Ethical. Then why are those they claim to support still living in Poverty?

Theft of Mayan Artisans designs and Cultural Heritage was the beginning of Ethical Fashion Guatemala’s work providing Copyright Protection. Today we provide Artisans with Banking, Credit Card processing and exporting the products they produce to over 200 countries by empowering the Artisans through technology, education, and trust.

No matter the country you live in you can help tell our story of change.

This is how you can help from afar.

Social Media is a powerful tool for creating awareness and sales for our Artisans. You are a Social Media Influencer, or active on Social media you can provide support.

Bloggers writing stories about Artisans, products, events the need for change. Take your audience inside the lives of the Artisans.

Finding Wholesale customers no matter the country, our ability to export to over 200 countries, cost effectively and quickly 3 days to the US 4 days to Europe and 5 days to Asia.

Developing lines of products has been a focus of our work for groups in other countries. The range has covered from Cosmetics to Coffee.

We do not charge a fee for those that come to Guatemala providing support for our Artisans.

English teachers no matter if you are an educator or not the need exists for our Artisans to gain a greater knowledge of the English Language. Most Artisan Shop owners have some English they have obtained from Talking with Travelers.

How you can help, education about merchandising in the small shops they own. Guatemala is a Tourist destination Tourists visit the Artisan Shops. We have found by providing signs we ship worldwide placed in these shops have dramatically increased Tourism sales.

Most Artisans have Facebook and Instagram however lack the understanding of the use and benefits of these marketing tools.

App development for our Payment Processors and for ordering shipping of products is an area Ethical Fashion Guatemala needs developers.
